Meet Our Cows

Every single cow at Arethusa is bred for greatness. It’s a privilege for us to work with the finest cows in the world, and we’re proud to go above and beyond to provide them with the highest standard of comfort, care and cleanliness. We know the name and personality of every one of our 200 animals, and the sign above our milking barn says it all: “Every cow in this barn is a lady, please treat her as such.”

  • Holsteins

    Domino

    These iconic black and white cattle are known for producing the most milk out of any breed of dairy cow in the world. We have 130 handsome Holsteins, 60 of which we milk two times a day.

  • Brown Swiss

    These gentle giants produce the second-highest amount of milk out of any breed, an ultra-creamy version that helps our cheeses taste great. We have seven Brown Swiss, three of which we milk two times a day.

  • Jerseys

    The smallest of all our cows, tan-colored Jerseys produce a deliciously rich milk with a high percentage of butterfat and protein. We have 50 Jerseys, 15 of which we milk two times a day.
